CNMA/Colterris Annual Wine Release!

Colorado National Monument Association releases 2nd annual Monumental Cabernet Sauvignon!

If you missed out on the limited run of Colorado National Monument’s premier red wine last year you may have better luck this time around. Scott High of Colterris Winery says Colterris upped production of this year’s 2019 Monumental Cabernet Sauvignon labeled “Balanced Rock” after last year’s introductory limited edition sold completely out in less than 3 months. High says several things made the wine a one of a kind in the world. First, like last year’s Monumental Red, this year’s wine features an etching of Balanced Rock designed by local artist and CNMA Art Coordinator John Lintott. The limited edition bottles are hand numbered.

Colorado National Monument is also the only national park in the country to boast a bespoke estate wine using Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown from a select local vineyard. Last year Colterris produced 150 cases of the limited edition wine but was overwhelmed by demand and ran out shortly after the release. This year Colterris produced 200 cases and will limit sales to one case per buyer. Colorado National Monument Association Executive Director Michael Paxson says when you buy the wine this year you’ll also help contribute to the upcoming complete restoration of the much loved historic Mission 66 Saddlehorn Amphitheater. Colterris plans to donate 5 dollars from each bottle sold to benefit the renovation. CNMA is working hard to raise $575,000.00 to update the seating, stage and equipment and make the trail handicapped accessible. The monument’s official Friends group is half way to its goal and urges local residents and businesses to consider contributing to this local piece of history as they make their yearly giving plans.

You can purchase Balanced Rock Red by the bottle or the case at major local liquor stores or direct online at https://www.colterris.com/product/2017-Monumental-Cabernet-Sauvignon. As an added holiday bonus Colterris kept prices the same as last year at $34.99 per bottle.
