SUMMARY:Into Lion Country: Research on Colorado’s Top Predator- RSVP CLOSED- PROGRAM IS FULL
DESCRIPTION:Mountain lions are elusive but essential to healthy Colorado ecosystems. In this program\, Genevieve Fuller shares findings from the Book Cliffs research on how lions move\, what habitats they rely on\, and how they coexist with people. Learn how biologists track and study these secretive predators and how the science guides wildlife management in western Colorado\, including near Colorado National Monument.   \n Genevieve Fuller is a wildlife biologist with Colorado Parks and Wildlife specializing in large carnivore and ungulate (elk\, deer etc.) management. Her career has focused on big game species and wolves across the western United States\, including work with the Mexican Wolf Recovery Program in Arizona and long-term gray wolf monitoring in Minnesota and Yellowstone. She has extensive experience in wildlife capture\, aerial telemetry\, and field research in remote environments\, and is passionate about using science to inform conservation and coexistence.   \nMonument on Tap is a CNMA lecture series that takes the learning out of the park and into the community—supporting local voices\, shared knowledge\, and meaningful connection.  \nPlease help support CNMA! Your donation directly supports CNMA programming and helps advance the mission of the National Park Service by providing meaningful special events\, presentations\, and educational opportunities that connect our community to the Colorado National Monument. Donate to CNMA  \nDetails:       \n\nDate: March 26th\, 2026\n\n\nTime: 5:30 pm- Please come early to order food and drinks. SUMMARY:Nocturne Art at the Monument
DESCRIPTION:Please join our Community Artist in Park\, Cedar Keshet for an evening of exploring nocturne art and sky gazing at Saddlehorn Picnic Area. Both feelings are evoked in nocturnes\, or paintings depicting nightfall lit by the moon\, stars and lamplight.    \n\n\n\nWe will be creating simple nocturne artwork with supplies provided. No previous art skills are required\, just a willingness to have fun and try a new activity.  Cedar Keshet was raised in the desert of southern New Mexico\, where riding horses and sketching the landscape shaped her deep connection to the land. Inspired by the colors\, light\, and vast skies of the west\, she paints both outdoors and in the studio\, using oils.  \n\n\n\nPlease help support CNMA!
