This artistic technique not only stimulates creativity but also promotes relaxation and mental well-being. Combine this with the fresh air and stunning landscapes of CNM\, and you have a rejuvenating experience awaiting you. \nNothing is needed but an open mind\, you may bring your own sketchbook if you would like\, but materials will be provided. \nJoin Denise Wright\, a retired d51 school Art teacher\, living in Grand Junction now for 25+ years\, and who loves this beautiful land we have here in western Colorado and is excited to share that joy with kids and adults alike. \nClass notes: \n\nThis class is for teenagers and adults only please.\nBring hiking shoes\, layers\, water and sunscreen and a snack if needed.\nMeet in front of the Saddlehorn Visitor Center\, will walk together to Book Cliff Shelter area.\nPark passes required for entry\, as always please carpool when possible.\n\n

SUMMARY:Then and Now Celebrating Colorado National Monument
DESCRIPTION:The legacy of Colorado National Monument traces back to the visionaries like John Otto\, whose foresight and passion for preserving the beauty of the land led to its establishment in 1911. Over the years\, many others have recognized the significance of this unique landscape and worked tirelessly to protect and preserve it. \nThis year mark’s the 60th Anniversary of Colorado National Monument Association. Join Terri Ahern as she shares her passion and knowledge of this beautiful landscape through photos and storytelling. \nTerri and her husband\, Rick\, moved to the best slope in 2000 after falling in love with the high desert canyon country. She has been a volunteer at the Colorado National Monument since April 2006 as a Trail Ambassador\, and assists with special projects in the Cultural & Natural Resources Division and enjoys the annual Desert Bighorn Sheep Count. Terri currently leads hikes for active adults & seniors through the City of Fruita Community Center. \n\nRSVP’s not required\, park passes are required for entrance to the park.
