SUMMARY:Yoga Flow and Meditation Hike Nourishing Mind & Body
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a short yoga flow session followed by a mediation hike. \nWe’ll begin our day with a 30 minute yoga flow class surrounded by the monument and then set out on our hike for a guided meditation to center your thoughts and focus your attention on the natural surroundings. This meditation aims to enhance your awareness of the sights\, sounds\, and sensations of the environment. \nJoin us for a day of mindful exploration\, where each step becomes a meditation\, and the beauty of nature becomes a source of inner peace. This Yoga Flow and Meditation Hike are suitable for all levels. We look forward to sharing this tranquil experience with you. \nElizabeth Whitt will guide us in a 30 minute yoga flow class. She has been a yoga instructor for 9 years and is the owner of Yogi Dreamer Malas. \nBryan Whitt will lead us on a slow-paced hike focused on meditation. You will learn how to turn your hikes into a walking meditation.  Bryan is a lifetime student of yoga disabled and a veteran who has found healing and purpose through yoga and meditation. \nMeet at Devil’s Kitchen Picnic Shelter – as always please carpool when possible \nYoga details: \n\nBring yoga mat\nBlanket\nComfortable clothes\n\nHike details: \n\nPlease bring a set of Mala beads if you have them\, if not our guides will have a few to share.\nPlease bring hiking shoes\, water and a snack\nPark Passes are required for entry.\n\n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The legacy of Colorado National Monument traces back to the visionaries like John Otto\, whose foresight and passion for preserving the beauty of the land led to its establishment in 1911. Over the years\, many others have recognized the significance of this unique landscape and worked tirelessly to protect and preserve it. \nJoin Terri Ahern as she shares her passion and knowledge of this beautiful landscape through photos and storytelling. \nTerri and her husband\, Rick\, moved to the best slope in 2000 after falling in love with the high desert canyon country. She has been a volunteer at the Colorado National Monument since April 2006 as a Trail Ambassador\, and assists with special projects in the Cultural &amp; Natural Resources Division and enjoys the annual Desert Bighorn Sheep Count. SUMMARY:Bullfrogs for Beers: Citizen Science & Bullfrog Eradication in Western Colorado
DESCRIPTION:Join Denita Weeks as she shares her work being done in the community to address the threat of bullfrogs in our backyard. This community-led initiative to address the invasive American Bullfrog issue in western Colorado\, particularly in McInnis Canyon National Conservation Area (MCNCA)\, is a commendable effort that integrates citizen science\, education\, and conservation. \nDenita Weeks\, PhD\, is an Assistant Professor at Colorado Mesa University and active in amphibian conservation on the western slope. She earned her doctoral degree from The University of Memphis where she specialized in disease mitigation strategies for an amphibian fungal disease. Her current project with students and community members involves surveys on native amphibians and the threat presented to them by invasive species and disease.  \n— \nMonument on Tap\, a lecture series that will take the learning out of the park while supporting our local community. Monthly education series to be held on Wednesdays at Copper Club Brewing. \nPlease RSVP – Arrive at 5pm to grab food and a beverage\, lecture starts at 5:30pm
