SUMMARY:Forest Bathing in Colorado National Monument
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a new program\, Forest Bathing in Colorado National Monument. This program offers an opportunity for connection and mindfulness while out in nature. \nForest bathing\, or shinrin-yoku\, originated in Japan and serves as a mechanism for enhancing mental health and overall well-being. This structured approach to engaging with nature offers a departure from conventional outdoor activities. Through simple yet intentional “invitations\,” participants are guided to immerse themselves in the present moment\, fostering a newfound appreciation for the natural world. \nDuring a two-hour forest bathing session\, participants engage in a leisurely stroll through nature\, emphasizing a gentle pace with moments of stillness interspersed throughout. Facilitated by your guide\, the experience ensures a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere\, leading participants through a series of sensory-focused invitations. These invitations prompt individuals to connect deeply with their surroundings\, fostering an enhanced awareness of the present moment and the natural environment.\n—\nJohanna is a Colorado based forest therapy guide certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Passionate about facilitating connections between individuals and the outdoors\, she derives immense joy from helping others harness the healing powers of nature. She has a deep-rooted love for hiking as well as experience working across various public lands throughout her career. You might recognize her name as the Executive Director of CNMA.\n—\n\nAccess Upper Liberty Cap Trailhead from the Saddlehorn Visitor Center\, turn left onto Rim Rock Drive and drive 6.4 miles (10.3 km) to the trailhead on the left. \n\n*Entrance fees apply
