Monumental Impact

From the 20,500 acres of land and 900 species across it to the 64 miles of trails and 3,000 Junior Rangers—Colorado National Monument has a lot going on!

Beyond the budget and capacity restraints of NPS, CNMA steps in to help fund priority projects. So much exciting stuff happening here—you won’t want to miss out!

Colorado National Monument Association funds…

  • Junior Ranger Program—all supplies (books, badges, pencils, etc.)
  • Supplies for NPS education and interpretive programs
  • School bus transportation for local students to come on park-ranger-led field trips
  • Supplies for natural resource research and field work
  • Internships
  • America the Beautiful Passes to new citizens at the COLM naturalization ceremony
  • CNMA Walks and Talks—free educational programs for the public
  • Support for tribal consultations
  • Support for volunteer recognition event

Projects CNMA has previously funded…

  • Park film to be shown in NPS visitor center to hundreds of thousands of visitors a year
  • Saddlehorn Amphitheater and trail renovations
  • Landscaping and exhibit area improvements
  • Roadside and trailside signs
  • Development and printing of publications including visitor guides, brochures, and site bulletins
  • Remodel of the visitor center store
  • Archival supplies and services for preservation of historical photographs (including those of and from CCC workers)
  • Items for employee wellness and morale: grill for events; field shirts for team members
  • Much more!

There’s still work to be done!
