This artistic technique not only stimulates creativity but also promotes relaxation and mental well-being. Combine this with the fresh air and stunning landscapes of the Monument, and a rejuvenating experience awaits you.

Nothing is needed but an open mind. Materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own sketchbook.

Denise Wright is a retired D51 art teacher who has lived in Grand Junction for 25+ years. Denise loves the beautiful land we have in western Colorado and is excited to share that joy with you.

Class notes:

• This class is for teenagers and adults only please.
• Please bring hiking shoes, layers, water, sunscreen and a snack if needed.
• Meet in front of the Saddlehorn Visitor Center. We will then walk together to the Book Cliff Shelter area.
• Prepare for 1 mile of walking total.
• Park passes are required for entry. Please carpool when possible.
